Human Resources Manager (Houston-Based, Hybrid Role)

Key Responsibilities
- HR Operations: Administer and manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee onboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining employee records.
- Recruitment & Hiring: Coordinate and oversee the full recruitment process, from job postings to interviewing and onboarding new employees. Ensure compliance with all hiring laws and regulations.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring a positive work environment and resolving employee issues and conflicts as needed.
- Compliance: Stay up to date with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, including employment law changes specific to Texas. Ensure the company's HR policies and practices comply with legal standards.
- Performance Management: Track and report on KPIs for employees and teams, ensuring performance is aligned with company goals. Work with managers to set and review employee goals.
- Payroll & Benefits Oversight: Assist with payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Oversee employee benefits programs and help employees with benefits-related inquiries.
- HR Reporting: Prepare regular reports on HR metrics, such as employee turnover, hiring metrics, and performance KPIs.
- Employee Development: Support training and development initiatives to help employees grow within the organization. Assist with performance reviews and provide recommendations for employee growth and retention.
- Termination Processes: Handle employee terminations in compliance with applicable laws, and ensure proper documentation and exit procedures are followed.
- People Care & Team Event Planning: Oversee initiatives that enhance employee well-being, including team-building activities, wellness programs, and events that promote a positive company culture. Plan and govern team events, ensuring employee engagement and fostering a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- SHRM or PHR Certification required
- Bilingual Spanish/English required
- 5+ years of experience in an HR role, preferably in property management or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance (including Texas-specific regulations).
- Experience with recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Familiarity with HR software and payroll systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
