Accounting Clerk (International Remote)
Position Overview:
As the Accounting Clerk at Shannon Property Management, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial activities related to our high-end residential properties. You will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in property management accounting, a strong understanding of industry-specific software, and a detail-oriented approach to their work.
Responsibilities:
Property Accounting:
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks for a portfolio of high-end rental properties.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Conduct credit card audits, meticulously reviewing transactions to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between financial statements and internal records.
- Conduct periodic audits to verify data integrity and identify discrepancies or irregularities.Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis and trend forecasting, to support decision-making processes
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial projections.
- Collaborate with property managers and stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Work with Property Managers to ensure understanding of property accounting.
Software Proficiency:
- Utilize industry-specific software such as Google Sheets, Excel, Appfolio and QuickBooks to manage property accounting and financial operations.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintain data integrity within the software systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to software functionality or data discrepancies.
- Stay updated on the latest software updates and improvements, making recommendations for system enhancements as needed.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in property management accounting.
- Proficiency in using accounting software, preferably Appfolio and QuickBooks.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial data management.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.
