Residential Maintenance Technician (Houston)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Residential Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in HVAC troubleshooting and repair, hold an EPA Universal License, and possess a well-rounded skill set in plumbing, electrical work, appliance repair, light carpentry, painting, and general handyman tasks. This role is crucial to ensuring our properties are well-maintained, safe, and comfortable for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HVAC Maintenance: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and resident comfort. Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
  • Plumbing: Handle all aspects of plumbing repairs and installations, including faucets, toilets, sinks, and drain cleaning.
  • Electrical: Perform electrical repairs and installations, including wiring, lighting, outlets, and circuit breakers. Ensure compliance with safety standards and codes.
  • Appliance Repair: Diagnose and repair household appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, and washing machines.
  • Carpentry: Perform light carpentry work, including repairs to doors, windows, cabinetry, and other structural elements.
  • Painting: Conduct interior and exterior painting tasks, including surface preparation, priming, and finishing.
  • General Maintenance: Address general handyman tasks, including drywall repair, tile work, and basic property upkeep.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and provide efficient solutions to urgent issues.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend the life of property assets.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally with residents, addressing their maintenance concerns and ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential maintenance with a strong emphasis on HVAC troubleshooting and repair.
  • EPA Universal License is required.
  • Proficiency in plumbing, electrical work, appliance repair, light carpentry, and painting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
